NFC Open Dag with Free Lunch ("NFC Feeds the World"

In celebration of World Food Day—a day that honors the power of food to bring cultures and communities together—grassroots football club NFC will host “NFC Feeds the World,” a welcoming community Open House on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at its Sportlaan grounds.

Partnering with world-renowned pasta maker Barilla and supported by local foundation Amstelidee, NFC is opening its clubhouse doors to treat approximately 250 local residents to a wholesome, complimentary pasta lunch. The initiative aims to strengthen community ties, celebrate Amstelveen’s vibrant multicultural fabric, and create an inclusive afternoon where neighbors of all ages can connect over good food and sport.

The open house is thoughtfully designed to bring together every corner of the neighborhood:
* Families and youngsters looking to meet neighbors and enjoy an active afternoon outdoors;
* Newcomers and international residents settling into life in Amstelveen; and
* Seniors and long-time locals seeking warm conversation, lively company, and a shared table.
* Former members of the club who would like to reconnect and see how the club is thriving

To ensure a comfortable and convivial setting for everyone, lunch will be hosted across three scheduled seatings (approx. 80 guests each). Alongside the meal, NFC’s pitches will be open for children to kick a ball, make new friends, and experience club sports in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Representatives will also be present to share how local sports initiatives—including youth sports accessibility programs like the Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur—help every child participate in club life.

With the wonderful support of Barilla and Amstelidee, we invite everyone—whether you’ve lived in Amstelveen for fifty years or arrived just last month—to pull up a chair, share a plate of pasta, and feel completely at home.”
