Lute Kruid '02

Lute Kruid '02 is the fine dining restaurant of chef Peter Lute and Marieke Lute on De Oude Molen in Amstelveen. With forty covers, the restaurant revolves around an open kitchen, warm materials and soft lighting.

Back where it all began
Lute Kruid '02 is located where Peter and Marieke Lute opened their first restaurant, Lute, in 2002, which grew into a well-known name in Dutch gastronomy. After 24 years the premises have been completely renovated, and the number of covers has gone down from 140 to 40. "Bigger is not always better," says Peter Lute. Working on a smaller scale gives him room to develop his signature style further and give guests personal attention.

Four or six courses
At Lute Kruid '02 you choose between a four- or six-course menu, complemented by à la carte dishes and a vegetarian version. The menu opens with three smaller appetisers and includes a palate cleanser halfway through. Dishes include Irish Mór oysters smoked on pine needles, scallop with Jerusalem artichoke, hazelnut and yuzu sauce, and a tasting of six preparations of Barbary duck with bumbu jus.

A seat in the kitchen
At Lute Kruid '02 you sit at workbenches or on benches right in the kitchen. Tableside preparations and little surprises are part of the dinner, in a lively, informal atmosphere rather than hushed fine dining. Lute Kruid '02 is open for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday.
