From the tandoor and the curry menu
The grill at Pakwaan is built around the tandoor, the Indian clay oven. It turns out tandoori chicken, lamb chops in a yoghurt marinade, tandoori prawns and paneer tikka, or try a bit of everything with the mixed grill. The naan comes from the tandoor too, from garlic naan to Peshawari naan with sultanas, almonds and coconut. Among the curries at Pakwaan you will find North Indian classics such as butter chicken and dal tadka, as well as pahari chicken from the Himalayas and curries made with goat. There are also biryanis with fragrant basmati rice, and for dessert gulab jamun, gajar ka halwa or homemade kulfi, including a mango version.
Vegetarians are spoilt for choice at Pakwaan, with separate vegetarian starters, street food, curries and grill dishes. Paneer, homemade Indian cheese, features in plenty of dishes, as does soya chaap from the clay oven.
