Ted Noten & co. - over waarde

Jewelry designer and artist Ted Noten explores themes of value, originality, and status in this exhibition to commemorate his thirty-year anniversary. These themes are also evident in his installations and performances, as well as in emerging and established fellow artists featured in the exhibition.

Ted Noten
Born in 1956, Noten fearlessly challenges conventions and taboos in his creative pursuit, often infused with humor. The world serves as his studio; inspiration can emerge from distant travels or chance encounters, even on the streets of Den Bosch. Noten is characterized by his down-to-earth nature and humor, yet he remains critically engaged. This unique combination allows him to scrutinize his field and societal issues with precision. Unconventional and surprising materials such as chewing gum and acrylic are his trademark. Notably, his acrylic-encased revolver purse and brooches that buyers could mold from gum have garnered acclaim.

Wanna swap your ring?
Participate in an interactive artwork! Ted Noten and Museum JAN invite visitors to become part of the artwork titled 'Wanna Swap Your Ring?' Exchange your ring for a 3D-printed Miss Piggy ring by Noten. This installation has been showcased in various cities, each yielding a different result. The submitted rings become part of the larger project 'The Ring Defines a City / The Ring Defines a Culture.' What value will Amstelveen attribute to the ring?

& co.
