The best gifts are the ones with a story, and you’ll find those best locally. That’s why we’ve put together a selection full of unique Amstelveen gifts for you. From artisanal finds to surprising must-haves, this list always gives you an inspiring gift idea.
Local Beer - from the Naeckte Brouwers
De Naeckte Brouwers is a true Amstelveen brewery in the region. For the ultimate experience, head to the ANNA Church for a tasting where the beers are also brewed. But the beers are just as enjoyable at home. Enjoy an Amazone (Session Ale) with dinner, and relax by the fireplace after dessert with the bittersweet grain and caramel flavors of an Elegast (Quadrupel). Dishwashing can wait until tomorrow. Prefer something with less alcohol? They also have an alcohol-reduced beer, the Lichtekooi.
Both at the ANNA Church and via their webshop, you can find themed boxes and tasting packages.

Amstelveen Wine - from Wijngaard de Amsteltuin
It’s still something special: wine from North Holland. Only a handful of winemakers manage to produce a truly good bottle in our chilly little country, and Wijngaard de Amsteltuin is one of them. To taste their wines, you’ll need a bit of luck: most of it is enjoyed on-site during sunny terrace days among the vines.
Want to take a bottle home? The best option is to visit the Amsteltuin winery itself. Some wines are also available at W. van Schaik wine shop in Westwijk Shopping Center. Cheers to local flavor!
Coffee with a story - from Hoofdkwartier Coffee Roastery
This local coffee roastery supplies numerous cafés and restaurants nearby, but coffee lovers can also visit themselves. The beans come from all over the world but are roasted super-fresh on site.
You’ll find everything from classic favorites like the vintage espresso blend to quirky flavors like the Coffee of the Month. For Christmas, this is the Guatemala Santa Rosa, described by the roasters as having flavors of “roasted almond, nectarine, and toffee with a hint of pepper in the finish.” If you’re unsure what to choose, you can also opt for a surprise package or a gift voucher for under the tree.
Since coffee is at its best in the first few months, Hoofdkwartier operates without large stockpiles and roasts coffee weekly, which means you might have to wait a little for your order. But for such a fresh cup of coffee, that’s a wait worth taking.

Chocolate for the sweet tooth - from Martinez Chocolatier
Martinez is a true Amstelveen chocolate maker, with both the headquarters and production line just around the corner.
While you can’t walk into the chocolate factory like Charlie, the store on Rembrandtweg always welcomes visitors. There you’ll discover their artisanal chocolate, fresh from the maker. A perfect stop for anyone with a sweet tooth—and the ideal gift for anyone who’s been sweet this year.

Chutney & Jam - from Potje Toe
Potje Toe specializes in products made from fruits and vegetables from their own garden. This ranges from chutneys and syrups to stewed pears and various kinds of jam. When the garden doesn’t have enough produce, they head out into the woods and the polder in search of berries, nuts, and wild plants.
The products follow the seasons, with autumn offerings including pears in red wine and chestnut chutney. Potje Toe is a small, local business, so it’s a good idea to place your order by email in advance.
