The Riekermolen
The Riekermolen (Riekermill) is a monumental building dating from 1636. For hundreds of years, the mill served to drain the Riekerpolder, where it once stood. The mill was demolished in 1956 and rebuilt along the Amstel river, in the border area between Amstelveen and Amsterdam. Today, the Riekermolen is a populair tourist sight.
Next to the mill stands a statue of Rembrandt, who often came to the area to paint.
