A family business since 1965
The story of Hecker & Hecker begins in 1964, when 18-year-old Ton Hecker started working at the shop on Rembrandtweg. A year later his parents Hans and Mart took over the business together with him, and his brother Guus joined shortly after. Mart looked after the finances and was a sympathetic ear for many regular customers.
At Hecker & Hecker, Ton and Guus focused on buying and selling. The shop was renovated several times and the range of products grew along with it. In the 1990s the brothers took over the business entirely, and their sons regularly lent a hand in the shop too.
Since 2015, Ton's son Joost has worked at Hecker & Hecker full time. The paper notebooks full of product codes have made way for digital systems, but the shop on Rembrandtweg is still very much a family business.
