Free workshop - the biggest samba band in Amstelveen
Join the biggest samba band in Amstelveen! Slagwerkgroep Bovenkerk is hosting a free percussion workshop afternoon open to everyone, even if you've never played an instrument before.
From 14:00 to 16:00 you'll rehearse a few upbeat songs together. New to music? Join the samba players and pick up simple, catchy rhythms on a drum. If you can read sheet music, you can play with the percussion section, for example on a marimba. Instruments and sheet music are provided.
Prefer to just listen? Come to the mini concert at 16:30. After the songs rehearsed that afternoon, everyone takes part in a record attempt: all participants and audience members get an instrument and, led by the band's music director, form the biggest samba band in Amstelveen. The afternoon wraps up with drinks at 17:00.
Entry is free. Workshop participants get one drink voucher, and free earplugs are available.…
