Leven in Kleur – Retrospective Exhibition of Jelle Rispens
From Friday 29 to Sunday 31 August 2025, DeNieuweGalerie in Amstelveen’s Stadshart presents a special retrospective exhibition honoring the late artist Jelle Rispens (1936–2025), who passed away in January.
The exhibition, titled Leven in Kleur (Life in Colour), is a tribute to the Amstelveen painter who lived in the city for over forty years. Rispens studied at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam and taught for more than three decades at institutions including the Rijksakademie, the Gooise Academie, and in his home studio.
His impressionist works in oil, watercolor, and print reflect a profound love of landscapes, still lifes, and people. Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase one of his works during the exhibition, with all proceeds donated to Alzheimer Nederland Foundation.
