Christmas run in Amstelveen
The Kerstloop Amstelveen is a Christmas running race held between Christmas and New Year, with 1, 5 and 10 km courses that run mostly through the Amsterdamse Bos on almost car-free paths.
The 1 km is for young runners, the 5 km for those who like it fast, and the 10 km is the main event. Every runner gets a chip-timed bib, plus a medal and a fresh oliebol (Dutch doughnut) at the finish. The top three in each race win a trophy, and breaking the 10 km course record earns you 50 euros.
Prefer to walk? Choose between two signposted routes: a 7 km loop through the parks of Westwijk or a 2 km family walk through the village of Bovenkerk. Walkers also get a medal, an oliebol and hot chocolate.
