Storytellers and good friends Sahand Sahebdivani and Raphael Rodan join forces once again for the new music theater production My brother’s keeper.

The theater makers previously collaborated on their successful productions Kingdom of Fire and Clay , My Father Held a Gun (winner of the Amsterdam Fringe Gold Award 2017), and Sons of Abraham .

Sahand and Raphael do not shy away from difficult questions in their work. In fact, they place them at the center. As a result, they explore cultural and religious clashes through family stories and oral histories.

In their brand-new work My brother’s keeper, these themes come together. It is built around the origin of human violence: the story of Cain and Abel. At a time of increasing polarization and international hospitality, they return to a central question: Why would a brother turn against his own flesh and blood?

Furthermore, through a blend of storytelling and music theatre, the actors retell the classic Biblical story. They move through history and recognize Cain and Abel in themselves and in each other.

Consequently, perspectives shift. The roles constantly reverse.
