Totto-Chan (The Little Girl in the Window)

The curious and lively Totto-chan doesn’t fit into the strict education system of 1940s Tokyo and is expelled from school. Luckily, she finds a new place at Tomoe Gakuen, where founder Sosaku Kobayashi offers his students freedom and creativity. But outside the playful world of Tomoe, the war gradually creeps in, and the world becomes less and less colorful for the children. This story shows how innocent children grow up amid the grim reality of World War II. Yet it is also an invitation to see the world through Totto-chan’s joyful eyes.

Our doors open 45 minutes before the film starts. Feel free to come early for a cup of coffee (which you're welcome to take into the screening). That way, you'll be right on time and can avoid the line at the box office. We also recommend ordering your tickets (including with your Cineville pass) online in advance.
