Art Opens Doors (KunstOpentDeuren)

On November 1 and 2, 2025, Amstelveen will be bursting with art and culture during KunstOpentDeuren. This new event replaces the well-known Open Studio Days and transforms the city into one big cultural stage for an entire weekend. Across Amstelveen – and in Nes aan de Amstel and Ouderkerk aan de Amstel – artists will literally and figuratively open their doors.

What to expect?

KunstOpentDeuren is all about connections and surprising encounters between different art forms. Visitors can look forward to:

• Music, theater, dance, and spoken word at unique venues

• Workshops where everyone can create their own art

• Collaborations such as musicians working with painters or dancers teaming up with graffiti artists

• Exhibitions and performances in shops, churches, museums, and even out on the streets

The event breathes the atmosphere of Montmartre: artists working in their own space or appearing at unexpected locations. While strolling through the city, one might encounter a painter in a wine shop or a musician in an artist’s studio.

Stages and locations

Performances and presentations will take place in diverse venues such as the ANNA church, Stadshart shopping center, and the Old Village. Throughout the city and surrounding towns, countless surprise acts and encounters will unfold.
