Wishing trees for caregivers

The College van B en W called upon Amstelveners to write  a New Year's wish for caregivers during the month of December. With the campaign "Greeting cards for Caregivers" residents could encourage care workers. More than a thousand residents have written a card. Mayor Tjapko Poppens and Care Councilor Marijn van Ballegooijen presented the cards to various care institutions in Amstelveen.

Councilor Marijn van Ballegooijen (Care and Welfare): "This campaign symbolizes our gratitude to all of those who have dedicated themselves to caregiving this year, whether as a worker, volunteer or caregiver. At nursing home 't Huis aan de Poel and Ons Tweede Thuis, where I handed out the cards, they thought it was fantastic to be put in the spotlight by local residents".

Mayor Tjapko Poppens: "With these greeting cards we want to express our appreciation for the people in the healthcare sector. The employees of Hospital Amstelland and Health Center Duizendblad, where I handed over the greeting cards, found it a heartwarming moment".

Amstelveners were able to deliver the New Year's greetings at 11 Christmas trees near the shopping malls in the city. The illuminated Christmas trees gave the shopping malls warmth and atmosphere during the difficult times.

THANKS For ALL The BEAUTIFUL NEW YEAR'S WISHES!
