The Upright Human in DeNieuweGalerie
From Friday, October 4 to Sunday, October 13, Martin Schelstraete will present a solo exhibition at DeNieuweGalerie, featuring old and new works around the theme "The Upright Human." The exhibition includes paintings, drawings, and prints that focus on the human figure. His background as a coach-mentor serves as an important source of inspiration for deepening his artistry.
Regarding his visual artistry, Schelstraete says: “Images are a universal language for depicting and communicating experiences, emotions, and feelings. They can capture and convey intangible things like ‘atmosphere’ and ‘mood.’”
In 2011, Schelstraete graduated from the Wackers Academy. Since then, he has exhibited regularly. His work is collected by private collectors both in the Netherlands and abroad.
